Getting there: Rabbit Ears Pass is very close to Steamboat Springs and Kremmling. From Steamboat Springs, head east on US 40 for 21 miles. From the town of Kremmling, drive west on US 40 for 30 miles. There are several trail heads visible from Highway 40
Parking: There are parking areas right off the highway
Usage: Light. At the time we went there was almost no one else out there. We did pass a few people, but I would say this trail is light based solely off my personal experience.
Length: 3.6 Miles
Time: 1.5 hours (Since we went up and around we went further than 3.6 miles and it took us closer to 3 hours)
Elevation Gain: 360 feet total. Trailhead elevation is 9320 feet. The top elevation is 9680 feet
Trail Type: Loop
Extra Information: I found this pretty awesome map of the area that might have been a little bit more help if I had it before we went:
The trail we took was West Summit 1A and I think what happened was we missed our turnoff and ended up heading up around 1B as well and that’s why it took us longer than we expected.
